Northwest Indiana Suzuki Conservatory exists for the purpose of providing high-caliber, all-encompassing music instruction in the Northwest Indiana area. This includes lessons about solid technique, listening skills/ ear training, music theory and history, fine appreciation of and striving towards beauty, and character development through the study of music (a beautiful heart, integrity, discipline, humility and respect for others, creativity, responsibility, achievement of excellence, poise even when under pressure, how and when to focus and concentrate, healthy expression, long-term perseverance, a positive attitude and enjoyment of life, development as both leader and follower, the ability to deal constructively with both successes and setbacks, cooperation with and support of others, etc.)---all in an encouraging and fun-filled environment. In short, NWISC is about enjoying the process and having fun while pursuing excellence in music and in life!
