TweetApproximately 800 children, adults and families attended Party in the Park this past weekend and participated in the fun, food and festivities of the event.
Hosted by the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce, the annual summer celebration was held on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Thomas Centennial Park in downtown Chesterton.

Several area non-profit organizations provided activities for children at Party in the Park, including the Duneland Family YMCA who helped with face painting.
Attendees took part in fun activities such as a bubble tent, basketball shoot, bean bag tosses, disc golf, face painting, Bozo buckets, bounce houses, dunk tank and crafts. Providing the activities were area non-profit organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County; Chesterton Duneland Kiwanis; Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club; Duneland Family YMCA; Duneland Montessori Academy; and Field Station Cooperative Preschool.

Party in the Park volunteers, including (foreground) Reilly Robison from LaPorte Savings Bank, serve attendees a sampling of food provided by local restaurants.
