Chesterton/Duneland Chamber Welcoming Community Nominations for the State of the Chamber Awards Luncheon

The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce they are welcoming community nominations for the State of the Chamber Awards Luncheon July 27, 2011. Awards that are open for nomination are the Putting Duneland on the Map Award, Business Renovation, New Construction, Humanitarian of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Golden Achievement and Ashley’s Jewelry Duneland Distinguished Woman Award. Each award presented has a certain criteria to be met and nominations will be reviewed by the Chamber’s Nominating Committee, except for the Duneland Distinguished Woman Award.  The Duneland Distinguished Woman Award nominations will be reviewed by past recipients.

Nomination forms are available at the Chamber office, 220 Broadway in Chesterton. The nomination forms are generally brief, and the Chamber welcomes all willing to nominate an individual and/or business to do so prior to June 24, 2011. Nominees for the Ashley’s Duneland Distinguished Woman (Athena)  Award must demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or community, provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community and assist women in reaching their full leadership potential.

Awards will be presented at the State of the Chamber Luncheon Wednesday, July 27, 2011 held at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton. Nominees do not have to be members of the Chamber; however they must reside in the Chamber service area (Towns of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres, Porter and Westchester, Liberty and Jackson Townships).  Applications are available at the Chamber office located at 220 Broadway, Chesterton or call the Chamber at 219-926-5513 for more information.
