TweetIndiana Dunes State Park is now offering its Dunes Conservation field trip grant program for the 2011-12 school year.
Available until July 15, this grant program is funded by the Friends of Indiana Dunes, Inc., and designed to distribute funds to public, private, parochial, and home-school educators interested in taking students on field trips to Indiana Dunes.
Students will learn about conservation, wildlife, and natural habitats at Indiana Dunes. These learning experiences support science and other academic concepts being taught in the classroom.
Grant funds will give educators the financial means to extend and strengthen student learning experiences outside the classroom.
Applications for eligible school teachers can be found at the park office, nature center or at www.friendsofindianadunes.org.
For more information about this grant program, call (219) 926-1390.
