Book Sale Volunteers Needed

Do you love working with books? The Friends of Westchester Public Library need your help to sort books and set up their Spring Book Sale on Saturday, April 9, from 9:00 am until noon. Although many books are already sorted and boxed for the sale, the Friends still have hundreds of volumes to categorize and many boxes of books to move and to arrange on the sale tables. Chesterton’s European Market Opens May 7, 2011

The road construction taking place in downtown Chesterton will not keep shoppers away from Chesterton’s European Market this year, opening May 7, 2011 from 8am to 2pm. Indiana Dunes State Park School Field Trip Grants Available Until July 15

Indiana Dunes State Park is now offering its Dunes Conservation field trip grant program for the 2011-12 school year.  Available until July 15, this grant program is funded by the Friends of Indiana Dunes, Inc., and designed to distribute funds to public, private, parochial, and home-school educators interested in taking students on field trips to Indiana Dunes. Indiana Dunes State Park Summer Camp Registration Now Open

Three summer camps at Indiana Dunes State Park will give kids the opportunity to have fun while exploring its wildlife and natural resources.  The Dunes Explorer camp is for children 9-14 years old. Dates are June 14-16 and Aug. 2-4. These two camps include overnight camping in the state park. Tickets for “Voices of the Brown Mansion, 1899,” are still available, but are going fast. The May 1 event is a fundraiser for the Westchester Township History Museum.
