Duneland Performing Arts series kicks off 2010-2011 season

Lakeshore Elites All Star Cheer Team Places 1st

Lakeshore Elites All Star Cheer Teams of Chesterton did an amazing job at their firstcompetition of the season! The Senior 4.2 Coed Team brought home 1st placegold at the Elgin Community College competition in Elgin, Illinois onSeptember 26, 2010 giving them a 100% paid bid to a National Competition! NeighborLink receives donation

Through their Community Fun Night program, Terry Bejna, General Manager of the Bob Evans on Gateway Blvd in Chesterton, gave NeighborLink Porter County a check for $463. The CFN program allows not for profit organizations to earn a donation by presenting a (CFN) flier on the day of your event. Donate Old Cell Phones

The Chesterton/Duneland Chapter of Kiwanis International is collecting old cell phones. The phones are refurbished and made 911 capable for emergency use for distribution at women's shelters in the community. Marathon Fundraiser to Benefit Independent Cat Society

Olivia Granados, a volunteer for the Independent Cat Society (ICS), is participating in the Running for the Kitties 2010 marathon fundraiser on November 6. All pledges from the marathon will benefit ICS. Last year, Olivia was able to raise $800 and hopes to match that amount for 2010.
