TweetWestchester Public Library offers different programs for all ages at both Thomas and Hageman libraries. Tickle Tales is a program for very young patrons. Children ages 12 to 24 months and a parent or caregiver can enjoy this program. First-time parents are especially encouraged to attend. The fall season of Tickle Tales begins the week of September 7. Registration is underway.
Tickle Tales is a creative, hands-on introduction to books and the library. Parents have said they have noticed their children carrying what they have learned home with them. The children are eager to participate in the sessions.
The program is divided into 3 week sessions. Each session covers the same topics to reinforce the learning that is taking place.
Space is limited, although as children reach 24 months and move on, space becomes available. Pre-registration is required at the library where the child will attend Tickle Tales. Tickle Tales takes place Tuesday mornings at 10:00 at Hageman Library, 100 Francis St., Porter beginning Sept. 7. Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton, hosts Tickle Tales on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 beginning Sept. 9.
