TweetThe Chesterton Adult Learning Center will open for the new school year on August 30. The learning center is located at 100 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton in the Westchester Library Service Center.
The re-opening has been made possible through an agreement between Westchester Public Library and the Center of Workforce Innovations.
Registration for the free adult education classes will take place the week of August 30. A one-time annual $20 fee will be required at the time of registration.
The Chesterton Adult Learning Center will be open Monday – Wednesday 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Tuesday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for registration and will remain open on the same schedule during the school year, which will begin September 7.
Classes and individualized instruction will be offered for students who want to prepare to take the G.E.D. exam, to brush up on basic math and reading (A.B.E.), and to strengthen their English language skills (E.S.L.). Instruction will be provided by teacher Kathy Schroeder and her aide, Linda Williams.
