TweetThanks to the fabulous mobilization and terrific support of Porter County residents, the Global Missions charity organization, located in Topeka - Kansas, received on 01/23/10 over 3.5 tons, 196 boxes of clothes, shoes, bedding sets, blankets, towels, medical supplies, diapers and baby formula! We received all sorts of goods, with people driving from Merrillville, Chicago and even St. Joseph, MI to drop off their contributions.

Rev. Manning will be back from Haiti on Wednesday, in time to prepare the container that will deliver the donations to Haiti in the next couple of days. We know this is only a drop in a bucket, considering the immense need, but we should all be proud to have done what we could to assist Haitians in this moment of distress.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to everybody that got involved in any way, either dropping off bags of donations or spreading the word; to little Trinity Cibak and Mr. Cammarata from Brummit School for their initiative to help; to Trailer Transit Inc. for providing the funds for renting a Uhaul truck for the delivery and especially to Graphic 22 for the tremendous support in the process of sorting/packing the 6,800 lbs of donations received.
Last week's efforts just proved that the possibilities are unimaginable when we work together for a good cause.
Best regards,
Joe and Carlota Hursey
