Youth ages 6-13 can register now to play in the flag football league offered by Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County this summer. The flag football league is officially endorsed by the NFL. The National Park Service is planning six prescribed fires this spring at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Approximately 1,350 acres will be burned. Fire is used as a tool for the park’s long-term restoration efforts. The Dune Ridge Trail prescribed fire, in the east end of the park, will occur in the area of East State Park Road and Lake Front Drive.
