The County Assessor is elected to serve four year terms. The assessor is responsible to the state board of tax commissioners, who has the authority to remove the assessor. The assessor reassesses the property values for tax purposes and is the secretary of the property tax assessment board of appeals.
Our current County Assessor is John Scott.
