The goal of the Redevelopment Commission is to promote land use in blighted areas and encourage proper land use in the best interests of the community. The commission has the authority to raise and spend funds to support its programs. With the approval of the Town Council president, they may issue bonds and levy taxes. The redevelopment commission may also accept and expend federal government funds.
Members of the Redevelopment Commission serve for one year terms. Two members are appointed by the Town Council and three members are appointed by the Town Council President.
The Redevelopment Commission meets on an as needed basis. Meetings will be announced when they are scheduled.
