Chuck,
Could you please tell me what I could use to put down in the mulch around my flowers that will not kill the plants, i.e., iris, butterfly bush, cone flowers, daylilies, etc., but will kill the grass and weeds coming up through mulch and even plastic weed cloth that we put down?
I live in Kentucky.

Answer:
American Weed and Grass Stopper (or Concern Weed Preventer Plus as an organic alternative) will eliminate the germination of seeds in garden beds. Applied as listed on the label this will not hurt any established plants already growing in the garden but will only stop weed seeds that blow in from germinating. To clean up the weeds already growing use Hi-yield Kilzall and as long as it does not contact your desireable plants, it will not hurt them. Chuck
