| Friends of Indiana Dunes are just that - more than
600 individuals who care about, preserve and promote the Indiana Dunes
National Lakeshore and Indiana Dunes State Park. These parks are priceless
natural resources for pleasure and learning in the midst of the heartland's
largest metropolitan area.
Through financial support and volunteer work, the Friends, a non-profit organization, sponsor a variety of park events and activities that enhance understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the Indiana Dunes. |
| The
Dunes are to the Midwest what the Grand Canyon
is to Arizona and the Yosemite is to California. They constitute a signature of time and eternity. Carl Sandburg |
| The friends sponsor the kind of interpretive programs that make a visit
to the Indiana Dunes informative and fun. But to do this we need
your help.
By becoming a friend, your dues will provide vital financial assistance. You can offer additional help by choosing to work as a volunteer. Your support will ensure that the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Indiana Dunes State Park continue to thrive. As a Friend you will receive a membership card entitling you to join special activities, like hikes, ski outings, family picnics and more. You also will receive by mail the Friends' newspaper, "Singing Sands Almanac". It contains a wealth of information about the parks, including schedules of events you won't want to miss. |
