Adult Summer Reading Program

Adults 18 years of age and older are invited to “Breeze Through Summer”, Westchester Public Library’s summer reading program for adults. The program begins August 8 and ends August 28 at both Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton, and Hageman Library, 100 Francis St., Porter.  No pre-registration is required, but a valid Westchester Public Library card is necessary.  High schoolers who wish to participate may see Thomas Library circulation manager Claire Williams. Library, Library Service Center and Museum to Close for Labor Day

Both branches of Westchester Public Library, the Library Service Center and the Westchester Township History Museum will be closed Monday, September 6 for Labor Day. Library buildings will reopen Tuesday, September 7 and resume regular hours. The office of the Westchester Township Trustee will also be closed on September 6. Read more >

Tickle Tales Library Program

Westchester Public Library offers different programs for all ages at both Thomas and Hageman libraries. Tickle Tales is a program for very young patrons. Children ages 12 to 24 months and a parent or caregiver can enjoy this program. First-time parents are especially encouraged to attend. The fall season of Tickle Tales begins the week of September 7. Kiwanis K-9 Krazy 9 to Benefit Chesterton's K-9 Unit Effort

The Chesterton Duneland Kiwanis Club is proud to announce that they will be holding a golf outing in which half of their proceeds will be donated to the Chesterton Police Department and their effort to secure a much-needed K-9 Unit. The Kiwanis K-9 Krazy 9 Outing will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Brassie Golf Club, 1110 Pearson Road in Chesterton.  Registration will be at 10:30am, with a lunch at 11:00am catered by Third Coast Spice Café, and shotgun start at noon.
