TweetA Spring Tea at the Museum is the title of this year’s fundraiser for the Westchester Township History Museum. The event will take place at the museum on May 2 from 2 – 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased singly or by the table at the museum, which is located in the Brown Mansion, 700 W. Porter Ave., Chesterton. The museum is an educational service of Westchester Public Library.
Those who attend the tea will be seated throughout the Brown Mansion and will be served tea sandwiches, pastries from Tonya’s Patisserie, and specialty teas from Molly Bea’s Ingredients. Floral centerpieces from Shady Lawn Florists will also serve as door prizes for the guests.
The Wolffgang Singers will entertain with a lively program of vintage tunes. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the museum’s current temporary exhibit, “Threads of Time: Historic Textiles and the Stories They Tell.”
Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase archival boxes and acid-free tissue in which to store the museum’s historic textile collection. Guests will also receive a small brochure with helpful tips on storing textiles. The publication will also include tea lore and recipes.
