TweetWestchester Public Library’s Family Film series usually takes place on the second Saturday of the month at Hageman Library, 100 Francis St., Porter, at 2 p.m. from September through May. For the month of March, however, the film will take place on the third Saturday. The film on March 20 is The Princess and the Frog. Films shown by the library are free of charge and open to the public.
In this modern retelling of the classic tale The Frog Prince, arrogant Prince Naveen and waitress Tiana cross paths in New Orleans. Prince Naveen is turned into a frog by a voodoo magician and Tiana finds him. Remembering the story her mother read her about a frog turning into a prince, Tiana kisses him. Rather than the frog transforming, Tiana turns into a frog! Now the two must race to break the spell with the help of a Cajun firefly, a trumpet playing alligator and an old lady who lives in a boat in a tree.
The Princess and the Frog is rated G and has a running time of 97 minutes.
The Family Film on April 10 will be Toy Story 2.
