Bookmarks at the Museum

Westchester Township History Museum, Chesterton

Westchester Public Library’s book review series, Bookmarks at the Museum, will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Westchester Township History Museum, an educational and cultural service of Westchester Public Library. The museum is housed in the Brown Mansion at 700 W. Porter Ave., Chesterton.

Pat Klewer will review The Last Time I Saw You: A Novel, written by Elizabeth Berg.

As Dorothy Shauman plans to attend her 40^th high school reunion, she spends weeks primping in front of her mirror, preparing to renew acquaintance with her high school crush. As Berg surveys the gamut of emotions felt by Dorothy and some of her classmates, she zeroes in on an array of stereotypes – the in crowd, the out crowd, the jocks, etc. – and considers what makes each one tick.

Bookmarks at the Museum will meet next on Thursday, July 15, 2010 when Hilda Demuth-Lutze will review the book Heart and Soul by Maeve Binchy.

It is not necessary to have read the books in advance to enjoy the presentation. Both Thomas and Hageman Library have copies of the books reviewed in the series. For more information, call the museum at 983-9715.
