Monday, April 26, 2010 • Times vary by date

Westchest Library, Thomas Branch, Chesterton

Young adults are invited to the Lego Stop Motion Program at Westchester Public Library.   The program will take place in the Bertha Wood meeting room at Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, on 3 different days: Monday, April 19, Thursday, April 22, and Monday, April 29.

Attendees will use Lego creations crafted by members of the Lego Club.  The theme for April is spring.

The first session will take place Monday, April 19 from 4-5 p.m.  Join Gabe Underwood as he instructs attendees in the pre-production stage of creating a stop motion film.

The production session will take place on Thursday, April 22 from 4-5:30 p.m.  Attendees will view their productions on Monday, April 26 from 4-4:30 p.m.

Stop motion (or frame-by-frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small amounts between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames are played as a continuous sequence.
