Question:
My father has several bird houses scattered throughout his back yard. Some of them need to be repaired. It is now late August. When would be the best time for him to repair them.
Answer:
Bird houses are most used in spring & summer. Sporadically through fall for a late hatch. Once in awhile the birds will use a bird house in winter for cover from inclement weather. This all said, it probably is best to repair birdhouses in fall or winter. If you are concerned about winter roosting, get them remounted in early December before really harsh weather starts.
