Question:
Dear Chuck
Help! Our beach area is being overcome with the invasive weed Phragmites. What is the best way to get rid of them? We cut them down but within a few weeks they are about 3 feet tall and growing steadily.
Thanks for any help.. Gerrie
Answer:
This is a very tough weed to kill. Hi-yield Aquatic Kilzall will help but it will probably take a number of sprayings to get it irradicated. Always use a non-ionic Spreader/sticker to help the spray adhere to the foliage. Fall applications work very well as the plant translocates the Kilzall down into its roots better. See us for more specifics.
