Question:
Dear Chuck: I have a hill around the side of my house going around the back. The hill is covered with Junipers and I have grass growing in some spots in between. I usually pull out the grass, but now, I guess dur to the weather in the past couple of years, the grass is more. Is there anything that I could put on it or spray to just kill the grass and not harm the Junipers? Thank You, Sam Vinci.
Answer:
Dear Sam,
Luckily there is a spray that can be used for just that purpose. It can also be used on many other ground covers. Check the label carefully for sensitive varieties, even on the junipers. The spray works only on grass type weeds and will not kill broadleaf weeds, however most problems in ground cover areas tend to be grasses. Fertilome makes such a spray called "Over the Top". Happy Gardening,
Chuck
