Question:
What causes mushrooms in the yard and how can I get rid of them?
Answer:
Sometimes buried debris from construction can decompose and cause mushroom growth. Copper sulphate can be applied to kill the mushrooms but they may reoccur next season. Also there is a disease called Fairy Ring which causes a definite ring of mushroom growth. Control is difficult but aeration and selective fertilization can decrease its appearance.
