Question:
We have a very large backyard filled with horsetail (I was astonished to find that this "weed" can actually be purchased at nurseries!). We've tried to kill it many times, but it appears to have a deep and intertwined root structure.
Do you have any tips for getting rid of it. We have a young son and would love to have lawn, but we are afraid horsetail would choke it out. If we use a product and are successful in killing it, how long should we wait to check for regrowth (or to let the chemicals subside) before planting sod? Thanks much! Shelly
Answer:
An aquatic product called Shore-Clean is labeled for this weed. Read and follow label directions carefully.
