Question:
Tibouchina Athen Blue Can this plant be grown in Maryland other than in a covered environment? What does it look like? I realize it gets big but cannot find any information on it's hardiness other than it should be grown more in the South. I bought it here though. Thanks, Cathy in Maryland
Answer:
This plant would be considered a tropical or a very tender bush in the south. I do not think Maryland's climate would work. It is a beautiful plant at that and the flowers are striking. It comes in easy for the winter and can be pruned hard. If it gets leggy over the winter indoors, prune again in early spring and put it out as soon as weather permits. I'm sure you will find it a fascinating plant. Best in gardening, Chuck
