Question:
I purchased a home on the lake in the Ogden Dunes last fall and was told there is a sale of dune grass in the spring. I intend on reintroducing the grass to the lake in front of my home and was wondering if you could tell me when/where the sale occurs.
Thank you.
Answer:
Sorry for the late reply. I have had a hard time this year securing a supplier of dune grass and to date have had no success. I am suspect that maybe the drought effected the supplies but cannot be sure. I get very few replies from various nurseries. In a normal year they do their digging through april and early may. After that it is too close to the summer heat to transplant it. The next opportunity is in mid september through early October. I will try to locate a supplier this summer for fall availability. Let me know if you are still in need and if a fall crop would help you out. Best always, Chuck.
