Question:
I have poison ivy growing within my Periwinkle. Without pulling it out by hand, Can I use something on it without killing the periwinkle? I got a touch of poison ivy on my arm, and I don't want to go back in for the attack. Can you help.
Thanks,
Kathy Itchy homeowner
Answer:
Vine-X is a brush on product that can be spot applied to the vine as long as you do not contact the periwinkle. There is also a product called Yard Glove which is a cream that you can apply to exposed skin that creates a barrier for poison ivy against your skin. Then when you come in wash with Tecnu poison ivy cleanser which helps clean the oils from your skin. In no way am I advocating you going out and purposely contacting poison ivy but if you are outside working this is a great regiment for prevention.
