Question:
I am looking for a hedge with thorns, I remember as I child we had a small runway hedge with thorns and it had some sorta looking red berries, I would like to use this maybe for protection in front of our childrens windows...I remember them being very prickly and hard to get around it....Can you help me or maybe any suggestions.
Answer:
It seems to me you are describing Cotoneaster. Some can get large while others stay low to the ground and drape over walls. I might also suggest some old English roses which are very thorny and bushy and very florific.
