Question:
We have raised 12 ducks from Easter (mallards). They are pretty much grown and can fly (except for 2), however, we have a pond that they were swimming on regularly and now refuse to even go close to it. There was a turtle in the pond that we think scared them, but we have since caught the turtle and turned him loose in another area away from our property, but they still will not go to the water. Is there anything we can do to get them back on the water? They pretty much stay around the yard all day. Thank you.
Answer:
You might try floating a pan with food in it just off shore a foot and lure them to it with other food. Then as they get used to it move it out farther till they adjust. The will for nature to survive its predator is very strong. good luck.
