Question:
My late Husband and I planted hundreds of juniper. When he died I did not have mulch spread on them. We had very bad winters and the deer ate the runners on the junipers. What happened is that the grass is taking over where the runners were. I lightly sprayed roundup on them during the month of February when the junipers were dormant. The grass just keeps growing. I also fertilized them with 10-10-10 and they are slowly coming back. MY POBLEM IS : HOW DO I KILL THE GRASS WITHOUT KILLING THE JUNIPERS? I hope someone comes up with a product for this.
Answer:
We have carried a great product for years called Hi-Yield Poast. This kills only grass type weeds but can be sprayed over junipers and many other ornamentals & ground covers without harming them. Your use of Roundup in the dormant season is putting allot of chemical into the environment and costly to you, but is doing nothing to kill the grass. Please always read label directions carefully so as to apply at proper dilutions and times.
