Ducks in Pond

Posted on June 10, 2003

Question:
Hi Chuck,
Saw your web site, and thought you could help.My mother has a pool in the backyard and the neighborhood ducks all congregate there, leaving waste in the pool, in the yard, on the patio. They mate often, there are too many new ducklings, and the messy, noisy cycle continues. Is there anything she can do - easily, lawfully, and inexpensively - to get rid of the ducks?
Many thanks,
Lili

Answer:
Unfortunately I do not know of a way to keep ducks away besides fencing them out. There is a goose repellent that can be sprayed on lawn and garden areas but I do not know if it works on ducks. The manufacturer is Bonide. You might check their website. Good Luck, Chuck.
