Black spot on roses

Posted on April 11, 2003

Question:
Chuck,
I have blask spot on my roses, although I have read many preventative cures, are their any to treat the roses that are infected?

Answer:
The best way is to do regular sprayings all season starting when the new sprouts are only two inches long. continue right on through fall. Follow label directions carefully. Daconil is a good choice or Funginex. If you have already contacted the disease, pull all the leaves off as they will not recover and start spraying immediately. Being a leaf disease and not an internal disease it is contolable this way. Good Luck, Chuck.
