Question:
Hi Chuck!
I have accidentally sprayed my beautiful candy striped phlox with Weed B Gone.
I have apparently hit a large portion of them. The edges of some of my plants are looking dead.
However, I am most concerned about my largest plant. The center is dead and dry...the edges, however still have blooms and greenery.
What can I do to save this 5 year old plant? It was so large and pretty. I feel just terrible about this.
Will it come back next season? Do I have to replace it? What can be done?
Thanks!
LauraLynn
Answer:
My guess is you may end up replacing it. The only thing you can do is keep drenching the plant and soil the wash the product through the soil but this should be done immediately. Some of these weed killers take a while to completely destroy the plant but once it gets into the system of the plant it kills from the inside out. Sorry I did not have better news. Hope I'm wrong. Chuck.
